SITE REMEDIATION AND ASSESSMENT
Geonsites provides remediation consulting to assess spill-contaminated sites. We conduct site remedial investigation and environmental assessment of sites contaminated by spills. Our remediation and assessment encompass groundwater, surface water, and soil contaminated by hydrocarbon spills. We have learned how to optimize spill recovery efforts, including conducting spill emergency response during winter operations. A spill incident inevitably leads to higher costs for environmental assessment and remediation. We implement ways to reduce these costs and avoid further environmental damage, including using natural attenuation remediation methods such as bioremediation using microbes. We conduct Phase I, Phase II, and Phase III environmental site assessments, investigations, and remediations. We delineate hydrocarbon-contaminated soil areas and collect soil samples to identify and analyze spill-contaminated sites. The impact of an oil spill is specific to site geological conditions. We implement ways to minimize further environmental impact and remediate spill-contaminated sites according to the released oil unique to site-specific geological conditions, without causing further ecological damage. Our team installs sediment traps to collect sediment samples to identify oil-contaminated sediments. We also collect sediment samples for chemical analysis and support dredging operations. We provide support to dredge operational teams to recover submerged oil sediment and assess accumulated contaminated sediment. The methods we use include bioremediation, physical processes, and natural attenuation processes to remediate spill-contaminated sites.
